පුරුෂයෙක්, ස්ත්‍රියක් හා පැවිද්දන් දෙදෙනෙක් දුටු ඉන්දියාව හා සිදුකරන ලද දඹදිව වන්දනාව පිලිබඳ පොත් 4ක් (හතරක්)

මට 2018 අගෝස්තු 17 සිට අගෝස්තු 26 දින දක්වා දඹදිව [ඉන්දියාව සහ නේපාලය] (බුදුන් වැඩ සිටි හා උපන් දේශය) වැඳ පුදා ගැනීමට ඒ උතුම් අවස්ථාව සැලසුනි.

දඹදිව වන්දනාවට පෙර මම පොත් 4ක් (හතරක්) කියෙව්වෙමි.

එම පොත් 4 (හතර) ලියා තිබුනේ පුරුෂයෙක්, ස්ත්‍රියක් හා පැවිද්දන් දෙදෙනෙකි.

එරික් මහතා සහ සුනේත්‍රා මහත්මිය දුටු ඉන්දියාව ලෞකික සංවර්ධනය, සාහිත්‍යය, කලා ශිල්ප, සමාජ විද්‍යාව, දේශපාලන විද්‍යාව, ඉන්දියානු අහාර වර්ග, කෘෂිකර්මාන්තය හා තනි නමුත් ඒක පුද්ගල වශයෙන් දැනුවත් මෙන්ම වැදගත් අය පිළිබඳව ගැඹුරින් විකාශණය වන පොත් දෙකකි.

පැවිදි හිමිවරුන් දෙදෙනාගේ ඉන්දියාව පිලිබඳ දෘෂ්ටිය බොහෝ විට දඹදිව වන්දනාව සහ බුද්ධ ධර්මය හා බද්ධව පවතී. මෙම පොත් දෙකද ගැඹුරින් අදාළ 'බෞද්ධ වන්දනාව' හා 'බෞද්ධ ඉතිහාසය' යන ක්ෂේත්‍රයන් විවරණය කරයි.

මෙම සතරදෙනාගේ ඉන්දියාව හා දඹදිව පිලිබඳ දෘෂ්ටිය ඔබ ඉන්දියාවේ දඹදිව වන්දනාවේ යන්නේ නම් ඉතා වැදගත් වේ.

සුනේත්‍රා මහත්මිය දකින ඉන්දියාව තිරුඅන්මලයේ සිට මුළු ඉන්දියාව පුරා පිටු 124කින් මිල රු.225 කට විහිද යයි. එයට ඇයට පරිච්චේද 11ක් ප්‍රමාණවත් වේ. විවිද සංස්කෘතික, සමාජයීය හා දේශපාලනික සිද්දි වටා මෙම පරිච්චේද ගලා යයි.

පිටු 184කින් මිල රු. 280 කට පරිච්චේද 28කින් ඉන්දියාවත් (දඹදිවත්) එමෙන්ම නේපාලයත් (ලුම්බිණිය) ගැඹුරින් ඉතාම සංකීර්ණ විශ්ලේෂණයට මෙන්ම ආර්ථික විද්‍යානුකුල විවරණයකට ලක්කිරීමට එරික් ඉලියප්ආරච්චි මහතා සමත් වී ඇත. මෙය 'පසු නුතන ඉන්දියාව' දෙස ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය බැල්මක් හෝ දැක්මක් පෙන්වා ඇති බව යන්න මෙම පොත කියවීමෙන් පසුව මට ඇතිවූ අහිංසක හැගිමයි.

පිටු 200කින් මිල රු.400 කට පුජ්‍ය ආචාර්ය උණුවතුර බුබුළේ මහින්ද හිමි දඹදිව වන්දනාව තම තීක්ෂණ බුද්ධිය හරහා බෞද්ධ පාඨකයින්ට පැහැදිළි භාෂාවෙන් ලිවීමට සමත් වී ඇත. මෙම පොතේ මීට අමතරව සාංචි ස්තුපය, චෙන්නායි, අජන්තා ලෙන්, ඇල්ලෝරා, නගර්ජුර්ණ කන්ද සහ අනෙකුත් ස්ථාන රැසක් ගැන තොරතුරු ඇතුලත්ය. මෙම ස්ථාන නැරඹීමට මා හට යෑමට නොහැකි විය.  

පිටු 189ක් පුරා මිල රු.450 කට පුජ්‍ය බොරැල්ලේ කෝවිද හිමි දඹදිව වන්දනාව පිළිබඳව සුන්දර බණක් කියන බස් වහරක් යොදාගෙන බුද්ධ චරිතය ඇසුරෙන් ධර්මය හා බුද්ධ චරිතයේ සිද්ධි අදාළ බෞද්ධ සිද්ධස්ථාන ඇසුරෙන් පාඨකයන්ට පැහැදිළි කිරීමට සමත් වී ඇත.

මෙම පොත් හතරම ඉන්දියාව හා දඹදිව වන්දනාව පිළිබඳව විවිද පැතිකඩයන් පෙන්වාදීමට සමත් වී ඇත.

වන්දනා නඩය 'ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ' සිට 'ඉන්දියාවටත්', 'ඉන්දියාවේ' සිට 'ශ්‍රී ලංකාවටත්' ඉතාමත් ප්‍රවේශමෙන් රැගෙන ගිය 'Jetwing Holidays' ආයතනයේ කෝසල කුරුප්පු මහතාට ස්තුතියි.

තවද ඉන්දියාවේදී 'ජටක් ට්‍රවෙල්ස්' / Jatak Travels' ආයතනයට සහ එහි නියෝජිත 'ජැකී විශ්වකර්ම/ Jackie Vishwakarma' මහතාට ද මාගේ ප්‍රණාමය හිමිවේ.

මෙම ආයතන දෙක එකට එකතු වී අදාළ බෞද්ධ හා දඹදිව, වන්දනාමාන හා චාරිකා සංවිධාන කරයි.

එසේ නොවන්නට මා හට මෙම වටිනා ජීවන අත්දැකීම් ලැබීමට නොහැකි වන්නට තිබුණි.

මෙම ලිපියේ තවද සිතියම් හතරකින් මාගේ මෙන්ම අනිත් කතුවරයන්ගේ ගමන් මග දැක්වෙන සිතියම් හතරක් ඇත. එය අපැහැදිලි වුවද එමගින් සමස්ත ඉන්දියාව සහ එහි නගරවල භූගෝලීය ව්‍යාප්තිය පිලිබඳ අවබෝදයක් ලැබිය හැක. 

මෙහි නිල්පැහයෙන් ඇත්තේ දඹදිව වන්දනාවේ ගමන් මගය.

මෙහි 2 සහ එහි උප අංක ලෙස ඇත්තේ එරික් ඉලියප්ආරච්චි ගේ ගමන් මගයි.

මෙහි තැඹිලි පැහැයෙන් දැක්වෙන්නේ සුනේත්‍රා රාජකරුණානායක ගේ ඉන්දියානු මතක වේ.

A mischievous story book - Fantastic Mr. Fox By Roald Dahl

This 88-page, rupees 970 (LKR) valued book of a mischevious fox's story by Roald Dahl (RD) defines his writing style as a children's literature author.

Like many of his books 'Fantastic Mr. Fox' is a colorful book with fun, jolly and mischief.

I think RD hates humans. And I think it's the war that impacted him. 

Beams, Bunce and Boggis are the antagonists of this small book.

They are like the symbolic reflection of Mr. Winston Churchil, Mr. Joseph Stalin and Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt in my view who drove the 2nd world war against Adolph Hitler of Germany.

Mr. Fox is the protagonist.

A beautiful adventure of survival with a humorous and fairytale-like touch. (Pied Piper of Hamlin)

If you watched the film from 2009 by the same title by Mr. Wes Anderson and read the book as well because there are a lot of differences.

Hope you'll enjoy them because both are great entertainment.

The Rule of Why ? : Shaveen Bandaranayake - Shaveen is ambitious. He believes in capitalism and he knows marketing (As far as I know)

Shaveen Bandaranayake (SB) was famous among law students when I did law in 2011 and 2012.

But it didn't work out for me as I expected (Now I am an accountant in training [2018]), but Shaveen now having 3 Qualifications in 3 various disciplines (Law, Multimedia and Film) is now an ad-man (Advertiser), filmmaker, runner and a petrolhead (A car fanatic) has written a book.

He is the founder of "The Law simplified", "Asenshal" and "INSTAVLOGS".

Shaveen Bandaranayake's "The Rule of Why" is a very descriptive but summarised book about marketing based on his 6-year career in the advertising and marketing industry.

He has conceptualized during his 6 year's that 'the customer' actually has changed so fast that he has the upper hand against marketers. He has somewhat focused on 'shopping' and 'specialty' products in his book. [Marketing Terminology]

He discussed the 'Convenience goods' in one chapter with a relatable example but still he believes in the contemporary world the customers are the higher power due to abundant information sources like media, internet etc.

And also this book is for marketers and not for customers.

He has used so much terminology it confused me many times.

The book feels a bit stuffed with facts and hard to grasp due to it's printed format but feels good to read due to its practicality. [Examples from real life]

The author has used 'What', 'Why', 'How', 'Where', 'Who' and 'When' as the main marketing scope of a marketing campaign.

In summary,

'What' - Unique Selling Proposition [USP]
'Why' - 'USP' and the client's perception
'How' - Based on the 'brief' [how a product is better than another product]
'Where' - Which media platform [More social buzz - better]
'Who' - New brand ambassador [The demographics of buyers]
'When' - Seasonal or which time of day [More social buzz - better]

If the formatting and a more elaborative text were existant this 54 page, rupees 225 valued book would have been a real academic textbook with a new marketing perspective. 

 

"නාරද" හා "කොලට්" ද්විත්වය දකින ශ්‍රී ලංකාව - පුරාණ සිංහලේ : භාරත යක්ෂ ඉතිහාසය හෙළි කරන ලංකා පුවත

"නාරද" හා "කොලට්" ද්විත්වය දකින ශ්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ දැනුමේ 'සම්භවය' සංකීර්ණ කාර්යභාර්යක් මිනිසාගේ ජීවන ඇමතුම් පැවතුම් වලට බලපායි යන පදනම මත පිහිටා ක්‍රියාත්මක වන බව ඔවුන් දෙදෙනාගේ පර්යේෂණ කියවන විට මට හැඟුණි.

එනම් ඔබ දේශීයත්වය හා දැනුමේ සත්‍යතාවය හා එම දැනුමේ නිවැරදි බව යන සාධක කෙරෙහි වැඩි බර තැබීමක් සිදු කරයි නම් ඔබ "කොලට්" හා "නාරද" ගේ මග යන බව පෙනේ.

"නාරද" හා "කොලට්" ට අනුව දැනුම ක්‍රියාත්මක වන්නේ දේශීයත්වය මතය.

එනම් සෑම දේශීය සමාජයේ ආකෘතිමය හා අභ්‍යන්තර ආයතනික ගැටළුද (අභ්‍යන්තර පරිසරය), සමස්ත සමාජීය හා දේශපාලනික පරිසරයේ ගැටළුද (දේශීය බාහිර පරිසරය) හා ගෝලීය පරිසරයේ ගැටළුද (විදේශීය බාහිර පරිසරය) යන සාධක හට ගන්නේ බටහිරකරණය හෙවත් දෘෂ්ටිවාදයේ වෙනස් වීම් නිසයි.

 "නාරද" හා "කොලට්" මෙම දැනුම පිළබඳ අරෝවට එරෙහිව විසදුම් ඔවුන් දෙදෙනාගේ නව කෘතියෙන්ද පිටු 60ක් පුරා, රු. 150.00/= කට තම හැකි අයුරින් පර්යේෂණාත්මක මගක් ගෙන විසදුම් ලබා දීමට තැත් කරයි.

නමුත් එහි ගැටළු නැත්තේම නොවේ.

(01) 'ඉතිහාසය' හා 'සමාජයීය' දේශීය දැනුම, වර්තමාන දේශීය ඛණ්ඩනය වූ ශ්‍රී ලාංකීය සමාජය තුළ තවමත් ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ හැකිද? [ජනගත කළ හැකිද?]

(02)  අතීත කාමයෙන් පලක් තිබේද?

නමුත් පොත් 22ක් පුරා 'ඉතිහාසය' හා 'බුදු දහම' ආරක්ෂා කිරීම "නාරද" හා "කොලට්" සඳහා වැදගත් සාධක වී ඇත.

තවද බොහෝ 'වර්තමානයේ' හා 'අතීතයේ' උගතුන්ගේ තීරණ වලට පහර දෙමින් ලියවෙන මෙම කෘතිය 'යක්දෙස්සාව' නම් ග්‍රාමයේ වසර 2500 ක් පමණ පැරණි ඉතිහාසය පාඨකයා ඉදිරියේ අභිමානවත්ව තැබීමට ඔවුන් සමත් වී ඇත.

'පුස්කොළ පොත්' භාවිතය, ජන ව්‍යවහාර හා බොහෝ ග්‍රාමීය මුලාශ්‍ර වලට කිඳා බසිමින් පෙර මෙන් විප්ලවවාදී ස්වභාවයක් ගන්නා "නාරද" හා "කොලට්" තම ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ හිටපු හා සිටින දැවන්තයින්ට නොබියව පහර දෙයි.

'ලංකා පුවත' බිහිවන්නේ නාට්‍යයක් ඇසුරෙනි.

'මුතුගල විහාරයේ කරදන් උන්වහන්සේගේ පුස්කොළ පොත' ඇසුරෙන් බිහිවන මෙම කෘතිය රසවත් ඓතිහසික තොරතුරු ඇතුළත් පොතකි.

Going Solo by Roald Dahl - A book about war, Africa and Roald Dahl's weirdness

Roald Dahl (RD) and his real-life world war II adventures are discussed in his second autobiographical book 'Going Solo' [GS] (1986).

His first book is the 'BOY' (1984).

This review will focus on the 2nd book, GS by RD.

Therefore understanding some of RD's funny mannerisms and other aspects that lead him to be a world-famous children's literature writer will not be discussed in this review because of my lack of exposure in reading RD books and also because of not reading 'BOY' (1984).

I remember reading and being mystified by 'The Enormous Crocodile' (1978) which was meant for young readers. 

I can't remember the plot of the story or other aspects but I remember loving the humor, storyline and 

beautiful pictures by Quentin Blake.

Therefore I will and I must write about him as a big fan and his book GS (1986).

This book cost my elder brother Sri Lankan Rupees 970 (SLR) and this book has 212 pages.

Puffin books in the introduction say 'It is hard to imagine a more colorful and exciting autobiography.

   

The book contains 15 chapters expanding on his journeys in Africa and the below map.

Some of the quotes remind of 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' (2008) [film],

'A life is made up of a great number of small incidents and a small number of great ones.'

The book at first discusses about his first job in East Africa and the second half discusses about his role in Royal Air Force (RAF) in the second world war.

RD in his book has been fearless to show his emotions and the realities of the world that he sees in the world around him.

And in the end, he claims there is no place like home.

He shows his strategic sharpness and also the quirks as a human being that he gained through his ideology by experience, reading, and education.

A very real and a powerful book about struggles of ordinary people which make this an amazing reading experience.

The writer published this book in 1986 whereby he explains the changes in attitudes of people and deep-rooted tribalism of human beings.

A must read.
